Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT)

Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) is the first undergraduate university in Dongguan, with Nobel Laureate in Physics Mr. Chen Ning Yang as the honorary president. The university was established in 1992, approved as the first batch of "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" by the Ministry of Education in 2010. It was identified as a high-level science and technology university construction unit supported by Guangdong Province in 2015 and identified as a new master's degree granting unit in 2018. The university will become the only model university in the province to build a new high-level science and technology university in 2019 and was selected as one of the first batch of national intellectual property pilot universities in 2020, and be approved as the construction of doctoral degree awarding unit in 2021.

Research Institute of Interdisciplinary Science (RISE)

Research Institute of Interdisciplinary Science of Dongguan Institute of Technology is a university-level research institution with the core mission of cutting-edge research in interdisciplinary areas.

RISE is oriented to the world's scientific frontier problems and national major needs, solving cross-scientific and technological problems in materials, mechanics, physics, chemistry and biology.

RISE is intended to become the academic research highland and high-end talent cultivation base of Dongguan University of Technology, helping to improve the level of related disciplines.

Songshan Lake Science City

Songshan Lake Science City is an early start-up area for a comprehensive national science center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, with a planned spatial layout of "one axis, one area, two centers and three clusters", focusing on national strategies and regional high-quality development needs, to create a major original innovation curatorship, a highland for pilot testing and results transformation. It is a comprehensive test area for institutional innovation through the construction of China Spallation Neutron Source, Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Southern Light Source, and 32 joint research and development institutions of famous universities; (Dongguan University of Technology, the University of the Great Bay Area and City University of Hong Kong). It gathers of a number of leading scientific and technological enterprises such as Huawei, Huabei Electronics, Shengyi Technology, Lanshi Technology and Geer Acoustics.
