Wang Biao and Professor Sun Changqing's research team from the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center were invited to publish a review article titled "Molecular hydration: Interfacial Supersolidity and Its Functionality" in Coordination Chemistry Reviews, a top-tier international journal in the field of coordination chemistry, summarizing the team's recent research findings on the supersolidity of organic molecular hydration interfaces. The journal has an impact factor of 20.6. Dongguan University of Technology is the first completing institution, with Dr. Fang Hengxin as the first author, and Professor Wang Biao and Professor Sun Changqing as co-corresponding authors.

This review focuses on the supersolidity of organic molecular hydration interfaces, covering the following main aspects: (1) Hydration of alcohols, aldehydes, sugars, acids, and sodium-containing compounds forms polarized supersolid hydration cell lattices, which disrupt the continuity of the hydrogen bond network through H↔H repulsion; (2) Hydrogen bond cooperative relaxation and network discontinuation may serve as the microscopic mechanisms and origins of intoxication, carcinogenesis, hypertension, and protein damage in cryopreservation of biological samples; (3) Organic molecular hydration reactions are purely physical processes involving electron polarization and coordination bond relaxation, rather than chemical processes involving bond replacement and electron transfer.
