Recently, Professor Qiu Yongfu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, in collaboration with Professor Yang Shihe from Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, published the monograph Materials and Interfaces for Clean Energy through Science Press. This book primarily introduces the theories of nanomaterials and interfaces for clean energy and their latest application advances, while elucidating the connections between the structures of nanomaterials and interfaces and their energy-related applications. The book comprises seven chapters, with a focused presentation of the latest progress in materials and interfaces applied in the clean energy field, including new material synthesis, material interface engineering, carbon quantum dot luminescent materials, lithium-ion batteries, perovskite solar cells, and electrocatalytic water splitting. It serves as a textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students in chemistry, materials, energy, and environmental-related majors at universities, as well as a reference for professional educators, scientific researchers, and practitioners in relevant industries.
This achievement follows the publication of a high-level paper in Nature Communications by Distinguished Researcher Chen Muqing, a member of Professor Qiu Yongfu's team. Over the past three years, Professor Qiu Yongfu's team has published a series of high-level SCI papers with Dongguan University of Technology as the first affiliation in the field of novel materials (including Nature Communications, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chemical Science, Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers, Chinese Journal of Chemistry, Nanomaterials, among others), and has been granted two General Programs from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and one Cultivation Project from the Guangdong-Dongguan Joint Fund.

It is noted that Science Press was established in August 1954 through the merger of the Compilation and Translation Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Longmen United Bookstore, founded in 1930. For over six decades, Science Press has relied on the Chinese Academy of Sciences, upheld its longstanding traditions and ethos of "high-level, high-standard, high-quality" and "rigorous, meticulous, and strict," and adhered to the mission of serving scientific and technological innovation, scientific communication, and authors and readers. Oriented toward the frontiers of world science and technology, national major strategic needs, the main battlefield of the national economy, and the health and well-being of the people, the press has fully exploited excellent domestic and international publishing resources, emphasized the development of major publishing projects, and established a business structure centered on Science (S), Technology (T), Medicine (M), Education (E), and Humanities and Social Sciences (H). Currently, the company publishes over 3,000 new titles and more than 500 journals annually, ranking as a leading comprehensive scientific and technological publishing institution in China.
