The 5th Songshan Lake Interdisciplinary Science Forum (2025) — "High-End Forum on Advanced Materials and Mechanics" Successfully Held at Our University

On July 13, 2025, the 5th Songshan Lake Interdisciplinary Science Forum (2025) — "High-End Forum on Advanced Materials and Mechanics" was successfully held at the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center of our university. The forum gathered top scholars in the fields of materials and mechanics in China, including Academician Wei Yueguang and Professor Wang Jianxiang from Peking University; Professors Feng Xiqiao, Chen Changqing, Feng Xue, Zhang Yihui and Li Xiaoyan from Tsinghua University; Professor Zhong Zheng from Harbin Institute of Technology; Professors Hu Gengkai and Xu Xianchen from Beijing Institute of Technology; and Professor Zhang Chunyu from Sun Yat-sen University, among more than ten experts.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Xu Yongjun, Vice President of the university, extended a warm welcome to the participating experts on behalf of the university. The forum was hosted by Professor Wang Biao, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (morning session), and Professor Hu Gengkai from Beijing Institute of Technology (afternoon session). The forward-looking reports and in-depth discussions at the forum greatly inspired the innovative thinking of teachers and students, and injected strong intellectual driving force for our university's related disciplines to seize development opportunities and solve key problems.
