The National Natural Science Foundation Application Topic Selection and Evaluation Meeting of the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center at the School of Materials Science and Engineering was successfully concluded at the center on November 30, 2023. Guided by Dean Wang Biao, the meeting brought together more than 20 young faculty members and postdoctoral researchers for in-depth discussions on the topic selection for National Natural Science Foundation projects. During the meeting, the participating young faculty members and postdoctoral researchers shared their ideas and approaches for foundation applications. Experts, faculty members, and researchers actively participated, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Experts including Professor Sun Changqing, Professor Ma Lianhua, and Professor Hu Yangfan provided insightful comments on topic selection directions, project title formulation, innovation points, and feasibility, based on the foundation's review criteria. Drawing on their broad academic perspectives and extensive experience, they offered practical and valuable advice on the research work and National Natural Science Foundation application strategies of the young faculty members and postdoctoral researchers in attendance, providing invaluable guidance to the participants.

Through the interactive exchanges with the experts, the young faculty members and postdoctoral researchers not only benefited greatly from this evaluation meeting, but the event also laid a solid foundation for the center's National Natural Science Foundation applications this year. The topic selection and evaluation meeting not only demonstrated the vitality and potential of the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center in scientific research, but also served as an important platform for academic exchanges in related fields.
