On the morning of December 6, 2023, Professor Zheng Mingjiang and Dr. Wang Xingli from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, were invited to DGUT for academic exchanges. The session was held in Conference Room A10 of the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center and was chaired by Professor Sun Changqing of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. The session was conducted in a hybrid format combining online and in-person participation, with dozens of faculty members and students from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and other units attending.
During the session, Professor Zheng Mingjiang gave a detailed introduction to the organizational structure of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University and the school's recent project progress from scientific research innovation to industrial manufacturing. He also shared the educational philosophy and future plans of a world-class university.
Subsequently, Dr. Wang Xingli, a postdoctoral researcher under Professor Zheng, delivered an academic report titled "Preparation and Application of Two-Dimensional Materials and Devices." He introduced advanced chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods for preparing two-dimensional materials to the attending scholars. Two-dimensional materials such as black phosphorus and molybdenum dioxide prepared via CVD methods have been used to fabricate ternary logic gates and for related simulation work. In addition, Dr. Wang discussed in detail the preparation of advanced two-dimensional thermoelectric materials and presented the progress of related projects.
The presentation was delivered in a clear and accessible manner, providing inspiration and ideas for the research work of faculty members and students, and arousing widespread interest among the attendees. After the report, Professor Zheng Mingjiang and Dr. Wang Xingli engaged in discussions with the participating faculty and students on relevant academic topics.

Biography of Professor Zheng Mingjiang:
Professor Zheng Mingjiang is a professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University and Deputy Director of the CINTRA (CNRS-International-NTU-Thales Research Alliance) Research Center. For many years, he has been dedicated to applied research on thin-film technologies, particularly the development of thin-film materials such as graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, and carbon nanotubes, as well as their applications in thermal and high-frequency field effects. He has published over 400 papers. He co-invented an industrially viable thin-film deposition system based on FCVA technology, for which his research team received the ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Award in 1997 and the National Technology Award in 2000.
Biography of Dr. Wang Xingli:
Dr. Wang Xingli holds a Ph.D. from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and currently serves as a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at CINTRA. He has published 47 papers with 7,500 citations and an H-index of 26.
