Academic Forum of the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center at Dongguan University of Technology Successfully Held

On March 6, 2023, the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center held an academic forum titled "Research on Irradiation Creep and Growth of Zirconium Alloys" in its conference room. The forum invited Associate Professor Li Yang from the School of Mechanics and Engineering Science at Shanghai University as the keynote speaker.

The Academic Forum of the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center consistently focuses on interdisciplinary scientific and engineering issues spanning materials, mechanics, physics, chemistry, and engineering, aiming to share research progress and explore goal-oriented topics with significant research prospects.

At the forum, Associate Professor Li Yang introduced his academic achievements and research experience. From the dual perspectives of research theory and problem solving, he proposed a defect diffusion-dislocation motion coupling model suitable for finite volumes, distinguished the contributions of diffusion creep and dislocation creep to the total deformation rate, and elaborated on the basis upon which the model couples mechanical boundary problems, defect diffusion boundary problems, and dislocation climb and glide.

The forum reported that the developed model can accurately predict the irradiation creep rate and irradiation growth rate of zirconium alloys, providing a solid theoretical foundation and effective technical support for the service performance analysis and life assessment of zirconium alloys.

This academic forum provided attendees with exceptionally meaningful inspiration.
