The 2022 Lingnan Science Forum Series — the Annual Meeting of the Guangdong Physical Society and the Guangdong Quantum Science and Technology Forum — was held from December 16 to 18 in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province. Academician Xiang Tao, Academician Du Jiangfeng, and Academician Jia Jinfeng from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Chen Xianhui from the University of Science and Technology of China, and Professor Hu Jiangping from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered invited reports on cutting-edge research and applications of quantum science and technology, as well as future development prospects.

Professor Wang Biao has long served as President of the Guangdong Physical Society. At this annual meeting, Professor Wang delivered remarks at both the opening and closing ceremonies and presented the Society's annual work report. The meeting brought together numerous experts and scholars from physics-related research fields across Guangdong Province, who presented and discussed their research findings and exchanged experiences in scientific research and teaching through a combination of online and in-person formats, attracting widespread attention from related fields and various sectors of society. The peak live-streaming viewership reached nearly 120,000 people.

Several faculty members from the Interdisciplinary Science Research Center at DGUT attended the annual meeting and engaged in in-depth and lively academic exchanges with participants and speakers. Associate Researcher Liu Zhao received the First Prize of the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award, and Associate Researcher Chen Jiapeng received the Third Prize of the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award.
